About This Course

This course is only for the low wage workers in the PWM-Cleaning Sector

The learning units are sequenced from a topical approach, starting with

  • LU1: Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Management System
  • LU2: Potential Hazards and Recommendations for Improvement
  • LU3: Incident Investigation and Reporting

Training durations: Day 1 – 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM; Day 2 – 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Assessment duration: 4:30 PM to 6:15 PM.

 

What You’ll Learn 

Workplace Safety and Health Practices Implementation (Level 3) is designed to equip cleaners with the knowledge and skills to perform work-place safety and health practices implementation.

Upon learning about the different topics under Workplace Safety and Health Practices, learners will next learn to apply the knowledge and skills to transfer the learning acquired to their workplace, which includes:

  • Interpret Workplace Safety and Health Management System
  • Conduct inspection to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions for improvement
  • Conduct incident investigation and reporting

Minimum Entry Requirement

Learners should meet the basic entry requirements as indicated below:

1. Ability to read, write, speak, and listen to English at WPL Level 2.

2. Ability to manipulate numbers at WPN Level 2.

3. Education: No formal qualification.

4. Age: 21 and above.

5. 2 years working experience in Environment Services.

6. Screening Process:

• To make recommendations on suitable courses if the individual does not meet the entry criteria

• Verification of authenticity can be done via checking on certificates

 

Attendance & Assessment

Kindly note that you are required to achieve a minimum of 75% attendance and be certified competent in all the assessment components.

Should you fail to meet the attendance/assessment requirements and/or terms and conditions of SSG’s funding, you will not be eligible for the course fee funding and will have to bear the full course fees.

  • Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fee payable after funding.

Company Sponsored

  • Absentee Payroll Claimable: $4.50 per hour, capped at $100,000 per enterprise per calendar year.
  • Skills Future Enterprise Credit (SFEC) Grant: One-off $10,000 credit cover up 90% of out-of-pocket expenses.

Union Training Assistant Programme (UTAP)

  • UTAP Claimable: NTUC member enjoy 50% unfunded course fee support for up to $500 per year.
