Course Content

This course provides necessary knowledge on emergency management and the provision of basic medical care to elderly folk experiencing a sudden injury or illness.

  • Understanding the first aid concepts and applying appropriate emergency management systems within the home.
  • Ensuring an effective response to emergencies such as head injuries, stroke, burns, falls, etc.
  •  Understanding proper wound management techniques.
  •  Carrying out basic first aid management.
  •  Performing first aid procedures.

 

Caregivers Training Grant (CTG):

  • From 1 April 2024, $400 grant is provided for each care recipient for first year with onset of caregiving training needs.
  • Eligible care recipient will continue to receive grant amount $200 in the subsequent financial year (between 1 April to 31 Mar).
  • If the remaining grant is not used this year, unused monies can be carried forward with a cap at $400 within each care recipients’ account. Any amount exceeding the Cap of $400 will be forfeited.
  • More than one caregiver of each care recipient can attend the same training and will be reimbursed only up to $200 in training subsidies per care recipient per financial year.

How to Qualify:

Caregiver Training Grant
• The care recipient must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.

• The care recipient must be aged 65 and older, OR have a disability:

(a) as certified by a Singapore registered doctor, OR

(b) Is currently receiving services from a Social Service Agency (SSA)

• The caregiver must be the person in charge of caring for the care recipient. This can include family members and Migrate Domestic Worker (MDW).
• The caregiver must complete the training course and receive a certificate of attendance if there is one.

Course Fees

Original Course Fee: $200.00* (Excl. GST)

*Caregivers must pay at least $10.00 after registering for eligible caregiving training course.

*Subject to eligibility and the remaining amount of the care recipient’s CTG which is capped at $400 per calendar year.

*Eligible Singapore Citizens can use their SkillsFuture Credit to pay for the course fees.
