About This Course

To equip food handlers of both retail and non-retail food establishments with the knowledge and application skills to follow food safety and hygiene procedures and policies, as well as maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of premises.

Food Safety Course Level 1 is a mandatory training program for all food and beverage staff working in SFA licensed food establishments and/or anyone interested to learn safe food preparation.

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA), together with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), have revised the Follow Food & Beverage Safety and Hygiene Policies and Procedures course (also known as Basic Food Hygiene Course) and renamed it as Food Safety Course Level 1 under the TSC name of Food Safety and Hygiene Level 1 with effect from 30 November 2020.

Persons preparing food for sale in SFA-licensed food establishments are required to attend and pass Food Safety Course (FSC) Level 1.

 

Course Content:

The Assessment Only Pathway (AOP) is a training option which allows individuals to obtain WSQ qualification by only undergoing the assessment without attending training.

Documents to prove that you are qualified to this assessment

Acceptable documentation could include certificates, academic transcripts, training materials, courseware etc. that are related to food safety or food hygiene, reflecting that the individual has attended the course.

This AOP module exclusively consists of assessment.

Ineligible participants may choose to enroll in Food Safety / Hygiene course (level 1) module, which includes both training and assessment.

Additionally, individuals interested in a basic food service courses can explore relevant training options.

Minimum Entry Requirement

Able to understand, read and write in basic English or Mandarin.
